My dear friends, I suggest that we embark together on another fascinating adventure that will take us to the midst of the wonderfully beautiful Rhodopes, bewitching every stranger with their immeasurable charm. I will show you around the medieval fortress „Podvis“ in the area of Gradishte, located on a hill between the Smolyan villages Gradat (to the north) and Podvis (to the south), better known today as the Momchilova fortress. And while we enjoy the epic and stunning 360-degree panoramas revealed from this old Bulgarian stronghold, I will tell you about the Rhodopes ruler Momchil – the last ruler of the fortress.

Here, you can find a unique blend of crystal-clear beaches, picturesque mountains and incredible archaeological sites. The island is so vast that a week would hardly be enough to explore all the amazing places here.

A month with a camper/van in Italy! Doesn’t sound bad at all, right?! It sounds like a fairy tale and it really is, or as one of my favorite phrases says: „I don’t want to travel the world, I just want to spend at least a month in Italy every year!“.
The only minus is the borders or more precisely the invasion of guest workers at the time we travel, but the end of August and the whole of September are the best time for the tours we organize ourselves in Italy. It’s not too hot for historical tours, yet warm enough for a beach, and most charmingly, the tourists are also no longer in peak range if we happen to visit a popular destination. How we avoided traffic jams and which interesting destinations we visited, you will find in the post.

One of the most impressive memorial temples of the Theban necropolis
In modern Luxor, located on the site of the ancient Egyptian capital of Thebes, some of the most notable memorial temples are situated on the west bank of the river Nile. Also known as the ‘City of the Dead’, it is home to ancient Egyptian tombs, temples, houses, villages, shrines, monasteries and work stations. The Temple of Hatshepsut impresses with its size and precise construction, and a personal favorite of mine is Medinet Habu, the temple of Ramses III. Large-scale construction, impressive composition and exquisite reliefs are all part of the memorial temples.
