If I had to describe the GEM (Grand Egyptian Museum) in one sentence, it would be – the place where ancient Egypt comes to life in a way that has never been possible before.
Here you don’t just browse exhibits behind glass. You walk among colossal statues, trace the history of the pharaohs, peek into the daily lives of people who lived millennia ago, and finally come face to face with the treasures of Tutankhamun.

Zadar is one of the largest cities in Croatia. It combines a rich historical heritage with the wonderful atmosphere of a seaside resort. The Old Town impresses with its well-preserved medieval streets and squares, remains from the Roman era, beautiful views of the Adriatic Sea and curious modern installations that have become a symbol of the city.
My visit coincided with the Croatian religious holiday „Body and Blood of Christ“, which is celebrated 60 days after Easter. Because of the holiday, most museums and churches were closed, but this did not prevent me from feeling the true spirit of Zadar. Walking through the Old Town was a wonderful experience, taking me back in time among centuries-old fortress walls, ancient ruins, and beautiful sea views.

Rome is one of those cities that almost everyone feels they already know. The Colosseum, the Vatican, the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon are part of every itinerary. Yet while planning our trip, we realized we were spending far more time looking for answers to practical questions than deciding which landmarks to visit. What is the easiest way to get from the airport? Which neighborhood makes the best base? How much should we actually budget for a few days in the city?
This guide grew out of that planning process and the three days we spent exploring Rome. It brings together the information we were looking for before we left, along with the things we only learned once we were there. From getting into the city and using public transport to real travel costs and the neighborhoods we considered for our stay.
We also included ideas on what to see, what to eat and a handful of restaurants that had made it onto our own list before the trip. Some lived up to our expectations, while others had to wait for another visit because our schedule turned out to be much busier than we had imagined.
Rather than creating just another guide to Rome, we wanted to put together the kind of resource we would have found genuinely useful ourselves—practical, experience-based and written for anyone planning their first trip to the Italian capital.
