Churilek and Izatov peaks above the village of Gintsi

The peaks of Churilek and Izatov are part of Ponor Mountain. They are not at all popular, but the route to them is relatively short, easy and with nice views. The starting point for it is located about a kilometer after the center of the village of Gintsi, whose main road is part of the Petrohan Pass. It is about 4 km long in one direction and can be covered in about an hour. See a detailed description here.

A Walk Through Dubrovnik – Explore the City Walls, Get Lost in the Alleys and Feel Like You’re in Game of Thrones

The first time I saw a photo of Dubrovnik was over 10 years ago, and I remember thinking, „That’s where I want to go“. Many trips later, we finally made it. We visited Dubrovnik in September – still warm and a bit touristy. And yet… we liked it. A lot.

Especially when we climbed up on the city walls. The sea, the terracotta rooftops, the winding alleys, the stone churches – the views are truly stunning. And yes, you do feel a little like a Game of Thrones character, especially if you’ve seen the series.

In the blog post, we share the sights that impressed us most – from Fort Lovrijenac and the Onofrio Fountain to quieter corners like the Franciscan Monastery and St. Ignatius Church. I’ve also included practical tips – when to go, how to avoid the crowds and how to plan a more relaxed route.

It’s a great destination for both families with kids and travelers who want to experience the city at a slower, more enjoyable pace.
