Staro Zhelezare – A Journey Through Art and Village Life
Come with me on a journey through a small Bulgarian village, where old stone walls come alive and the houses whisper stories unlike any you’ve heard before. Welcome to Staro Zhelezare – where art and village life coexist unexpectedly and magically.
This wonderful transformation is thanks to artist Ventsislav Piryankov and his wife Katarzyna, who, along with their students, return here every summer. With each brushstroke, they weave color and imagination into the village, transforming it into one of the largest and most vibrant open-air art galleries.
As you stroll along the streets, you’ll encounter fairy-tale characters, world-famous icons, political figures, poets, revolutionaries, everyday faces, famous masterpieces, reflections on global issues, and countless surprises waiting around the corner.
