Medieval Fairytale in Catalonia

Catalonia has so much history and beauty to discover, and is so easily accessible that there is no reason to miss it. In this article, we tell you about Girona, Besalu and Peratallada – towns that took us back in time with their authentic architecture, cobbled streets and stories woven into their stone walls. Girona impresses with its majestic cathedral, picturesque Jewish quarter and iconic colourful houses along the banks of the Onyar River. Besalu immersed us in a true medieval fairytale with its iconic stone bridge and well-preserved buildings that tell the story of the city’s rich past. And Peratallada, with its narrow streets that seemed frozen in time, offered us the most romantic walk through its cosy corners. Each of these places has its own charm and character, and together they create an unforgettable journey through the history and beauty of Catalonia. Read more here.

In recent years, it has become a tradition for us to visit an Arab country in the fall. This time, our destination was the United Arab Emirates and their capital, Abu Dhabi. We spent an unforgettable weekend exploring breathtaking landmarks like the Grand Mosque and added a touch of adventure with an exhilarating desert safari.

Bologna: attractions in the city of arches and gates

We visited Bologna at the end of last November. Although it was late autumn, the colors of the deciduous trees were still bright. In addition, the Christmas decorations were started.

In this article I will tell you about all the sights in Bologna that we visited during our two-day stay in the city. The top of them for me were: the Archgymnasium, the old university building, the Basilica of St. Stephen, which is actually a large complex of several churches and the Main Square (Piazza Maggiore) with the buildings on it.

Rastoke – the fairy-tale village of the waterfall

Rastoke has so far been the biggest „surprise find“ of all our travel destinations! If you love fairy tales in real life, you won’t be disappointed.

The village is a mix of houses, footbridges and restaurants built on a landscape of rushing water and waterfalls. What struck us the most was that everything was built on water – everything! Rastoke is also known for its picturesque historic mills, which were once used to grind grain, but are now used as a tourist attraction. They were built along the river Slunitsa, which runs through the center of the village and creates a series of small waterfalls and pools. If you are looking for a place that combines natural beauty, history and tranquility, Rastoke should definitely be on your list to visit.

A week in the Maldives, vacation at Kuredu Island Resort

As is probably the case with many people, our trip to the Maldives was a long-awaited and carefully planned trip. My birthday was a perfect excuse to escape the winter weather in Bulgaria and spend a holiday week in the Maldives and Kuredu Island was a carefully considered choice. Kuredu Island Resort and Spa offered everything I had dreamed of when I imagined my holiday in the Maldives – its own, easily accessible coral reef, sea turtles, white sand, beautiful beaches, charming villas and excellent reviews online. An added bonus was the seaplane flight – an experience I had never had before. Read the article here.

Beli Iskar eco-trail in Rila Mountains

The name of Rila Mountains comes from the Thracian word „Roula,“ which means „a lot of water“. Some of the longest and most abundant rivers in Bulgaria spring from this mountain – Iskar, Maritsa, and Mesta. If you’re looking for a new adventure in the area, you can try the Beli Iskar eco-trail, which features a total of 19 bridges. The trail is circular – it takes about 3–4 hours to complete, and at the end, you’ll be rewarded with an incredible panoramic view!
