Cinema tourism in Italy – where the Medici series was filmed
In recent years, the phenomenon of film tourism has grown a lot. The credit for this growth is certainly due to the success of numerous box-office movies and TV series that have made famous various places previously foreign to mass tourism. There are many reasons why we fall in love with a movie or series, and sometimes that love makes us want to immerse ourselves in the spirit and sights we’ve seen on screen.
The series that touched me a lot is „Medici“. Maybe because the Renaissance is the era that amazes me, or maybe my maniacal curiosity about the „Lords of Tuscany“, why not the amazing architectural creations created by the clan, which I keep finding all over Tuscany?! „A movie is always the beginning of a journey.“

Mugla village: a journey to the end of the world
The Rhodope village of Mugla is located at about 1340 m above sea level, in the picturesque gorge of the Tenesdere River, 23 km northwest of its municipal center Smolyan. An asphalt road from Smolyan was once built next to it. He moves in the so-called Mugla’s Pass, passed through the beautiful gorges of the Cherna and Tenesdere rivers.
However, this road can hardly be called an asphalt road. It’s a horrible mix of worn asphalt, gravel, rocks, ruts and potholes for over 20 kilometers. In this article I will tell you briefly about the village of Mugla and the road to it.
